Birthdays | Choo Choo, Danru is Two

All Aboard! Danru's 2nd Birthday party train is departing! Passing Cold drink-station, Food-station and Coffee-station on its way to its final destination - Sweet-Station. Yes, your guess is right - Train theme!

We decided to invite family and friends and not to have a 100% kid’s party this year. At this age Danru enjoys playing with his older cousins, and having a bunch full of 2-year-olds together……… well, that could lead to a big train smash!

Health | Thumbs up for Septogard!

We are almost through Winter, and this post might come a little late, but I thought I would share it anyway.
One spoonful of these, one of those, and then 2 of the orange ones - Danru knows the drill, before he can play a bit before leaving for school every morning, he needs to take his medicine.   Romé only gets 2.5ml of the one bottle, dissolved in a bit of water to neutralise the taste a bit.  The Immunity Army is lined up to fight against the uninvited bugs!

Birthdays | Cupcakes in a Mug

I decided to break away from the ordinary party packs for school this year {those packets never get finished anyway and a lot goes to waste}.  Birthday = Cake!

I found that cupcakes work perfect for kids as it is less messy and each has its own individual portion with no leftovers. I put the cupcakes in 'blikbekertjies' {small enamel mugs} and as an extra surprise a handful of speckled eggs underneath the cupcake at the bottom of the mug.  For some detail and to personalise the cups, I put the kid's names on name tags and tied it to the handles.  The colour of the speckled eggs worked perfectly with the colour of 'blikbekertjies' and I coloured the icing in the same type of blue.

Birthdays | Picnic in a Tent

It is just as icy cold outside as 2 years ago, but inside it is heating up -  Danru is turning TWO today!  Although it is still pitch dark, my husband and I enter his room with a loud "Happy Birthday" melody to announce this exciting event to him.  Not understanding what exactly is happening, he quietly keeps lying down with his eyes closed. The last notes of the song fades away and a big smile appears as he knows this must be something special and he enjoys every moment thereof.

Family Vacation | Kruger Adventures

My husband and I love the bush-veld. The Wild animals, the Smell of the bush, the Sound of the birds, but also the Quietness and Mystery thereof.  Holidays are the time that we use to recharge and get our binoculars focused on the things that really matter in life. What better place to do this than in the bush with our kids and family!  As working parents we treasure the time we have to spend with our kids and we want to make the best of every moment.  I would like to share some memorable moments of our recent holiday to the Kruger National Park.
