One spoonful of these, one of those, and then 2 of the orange ones - Danru knows the drill, before he can play a bit before leaving for school every morning, he needs to take his medicine. Romé only gets 2.5ml of the one bottle, dissolved in a bit of water to neutralise the taste a bit. The Immunity Army is lined up to fight against the uninvited bugs!
Since the experience I had at the beginning of the year, I started to get very strict on giving my children supplements to keep them healthy. It breaks my heart to leave them with someone else when sick, as all they really want is me! As a working mom this is one of the hardest parts for me to deal with. Which way do you go? Keeping them from school at the early stages of the illness to clear up quicker? Or, on the other hand, if you take time off from work now it might get worse later and then you need to take more time off? This winter I tried to do everything in my power to keep them healthy and it paid off.
When Romé was only 2 months old she was put onto antibiotics as she picked up a terrible, terrifying cough from Danru {that was sick the previous week} in mid-Summer! The doctor sympathetically predicted that both my kids will make turns to be sick the coming Winter! Well, Romé got better soon, but I was nervous about the doctor’s words and therefore started to make plans. I decided to keep Romé at home with a caretaker until Summer and I also discovered that Septogard really works for my children. I had to learn the hard way to figure this out and here is my story:
As said, Romé was about 2 months old when she started with a really bad cough. It sounded terrible coming from such a little person and she wouldn't stop until she threw up the mucus? I took her to the doctor immediately as I was so terrified, and she was put onto 7-days of Antibiotics!! It was then that the doctor predicted that I will be having 2 sick children the coming winter.
It went well from some time and then I heard the alarming sounds that my baby girl made - the same ones the previous cough started with! My heart almost crumbled as I knew what was coming - doctor visits, antibiotics, being at work thinking about my sick child at home, feeling guilty for not being there etc. In the same time I heard about Septogard and out of desperation I did some research thereon. Septogard is a natural antibiotic that fights both viral and bacterial infections and can be given as a medicine to cure, or as a supplement. As it is a natural product it can be given to infants too!
The cough worsened and I started to give Romé 2.5ml in the morning and evenings {it was quite a mission to get it in to her mouth as it tasted horrible to her}. AMAZINGLY, the cough was gone in less than 2 days. I stopped giving it to her as it would make her cry every time because of the taste. Within a week the cough started again and worsens so much that on Mothersday we decided to cancel the reservation at the restaurant and stay indoors. I then decided that the crying with each dosage of Septogard was better than a coughing baby and started again with 2.5ml both morning and evening. Within a day I saw a huge improvement ........ AGAIN!!!
Needless to say, I decided to give it to both her and Danru as a supplement each morning and also figured that if I dissolve it in a bit of water the taste wasn't as sharp.
I did not have to visit the doctor since Romé was 2 months old, and that after the doctor's prediction - I am so thankful!!
The point that I want to make and to conclude is that all of us get sick from time to time and if it happens it does disturb us. I want to encourage you to not only accept it and try everything in your power to prevent illnesses. I gave supplements and Septogard and made sure my kids were dressed warmly. It can also be fun to snuggle up under a blanket with them at night-time instead of heating up the rooms in the house to extreme temperatures.
The effort we put into keeping our kids healthy was much less exhausting than having sick children and far less expensive. Do what you can to prevent, and if the bugs do sneak into your house, take the best care you can of you children and know deep down in your heart this too will pass.
