I had such a good laugh earlier this week and thought I would like to share this with you. Mirrors fascinate children from a very small age and you find it in a lot of educational toys and books. This is nothing new to Danru, but it is as if he rediscovered it on Monday morning.
I found him in front of the mirror when I wanted to dress him and had so much difficulty to get his co-operation with this. As soon as we were done he went straight back to the mirror and then I realised what was going on! He just couldn't get enough - pulling faces, jumping towards the mirror and doing all sorts of tricks while watching his reflection! How fascinating!
We were already running late and I had to call him several times before he eventually decided to leave the mirror, but not without a wave and Bye-bye to the 'other Danru' in the mirror. This was just enough to puzzle him again as the boy in the mirror, who happened to look just like him, waved back.... After another round of convincing, I told him that he is going to play with his friends at school in which he replied that he wants to play with "Dandu" - How Adorable!
After his bath that evening, it all started again, and one would really think there was somebody with him in the room as he laughed and played with his reflection. He then started to investigate where the 'other Danru' was hiding and walked around the couch and even tried to look behind the mirror!
We didn't want to spoil the fun for him and left him to play, while secretly taking videos off course! He will have to figure this one out for himself, after all, there is really only ONE cute, charming, little 'Dandu'!
